War of the Worlds (2005)

Hard to believe but when War of the Worlds came out in 2005 it had been 23 years since Steven Spielberg’s last movie about alien life forms. But now E.T.s are here not to eat candy but to kill all humans and use their blood as fertilizer! New Podcast: Issue 41: What the Helicarrier Is Going On?

Avengers 6-inch figures are showing up at Wal-Marts, but blink and you miss them…and if you head to eBay you’ll be paying a pretty penny if your target is Hawkeye. In the 4-inch line, Wave 3 is equally there and gone, and no sign when the Chitauri figures might be coming. Marvel Legends are equally enigmatic with an upcoming revision case that seems to help few, and certainly not get the variants out there. And yet Wal-Mart has 4-packs that no one knew were coming showing up on shelves, which just leaves Marjorie, Arnie, and Justin asking…WHAT THE HELICARRIER IS GOING ON?

On this week’s Marvelicious Toys podcast, your hosts run down the latest store reports, including an in-depth review of all the new Amazing Spider-Man movie line of figures and Super Hero Squad. Plus a review of the Avengers’ Skrull figure, and the Wal-Mart exclusive 6-inch Captain America.

Also on this week’s show, we catch you up on the Hot Toys assault from Avengers to Amazing Spider-Man, and the latest products from Diamond Select, Kotobukiya, Bowen, and Sideshow.

With a review of Peter David’s novelization of Spider-Man, a Fantastic Forum Poll, and fun big and small, it’s on this action-packed super-sized Marvelicious Toys podcast!
